Hi, I’m Aleksandar Manchevski
Mechanical Engineer & Master of Technical Sciences • Specialized in Energy Efficiency & Renewable Resources
Throughout my academic work and engineering career, my focus has been on renewable energy conversion, thermodynamic efficiency, and micro-grid architecture. Yet, the catalyst for creating 6th Star occurred right at home.
The Turning Point: Building My Own Energy-Independent Home
A few years ago, I committed to transforming my own home into a self-sufficient, sustainable living environment. Like many people, I began exploring online guides, sizing calculators, and equipment databases to design the photovoltaic and battery storage array.
What I encountered was surprising: the vast majority of online tools were either sales lead-generation funnels or dangerously simplified formulas that completely ignored basic engineering principles. They failed to account for depth-of-discharge constraints on modern chemistries, ignored DC-to-AC inverter standby losses, and treated daylight hours as identical to Peak Sun Hours.
People following those simplistic tables were ending up with undersized battery banks, severely shortened battery lifespans, or excessive investments in hardware they did not need. I realized there was a critical need for an independent, mathematically sound, and free engineering tool.
The Mission of 6th Star
The primary objective of this project is two-fold:
- Educating the Public on Renewable Energy & Storage: Democratizing access to transparent electrical models so homeowners can plan solar installations with confidence.
- Empowering Climate-Conscious Builders & Campers: Helping outdoor enthusiasts, camper van builders, and rural homeowners choose clean, silent solar solutions over carbon-intensive fossil fuel generators.
Engineering Standards
Every calculation on 6th Star incorporates verified thermodynamic loss coefficients, battery depth-of-discharge constraints (comparing LiFePO4 to AGM Lead-Acid), and National Electrical Code (NEC) continuous amp safety factors for MPPT controllers and inverters.
